ARCHITECTURE STUDIO 1
PROJECT 1 | Representing ME
The first project that is assigned to us is an ice breaker session. it is a very fun project where we are assigned to introduce ourself in a unique way. Before we can introduce ourself, we need to explore and know ourself first, and when the lecturers say introduce yourself, they are not expecting something usual such as, who is my name, or where i come from, or what is my favourite food. They are expecting something more! something like our character.
The first step in introducing ourself, we have to make a unique self-portrait that can tell about yourself.

I represent myself with colours. i wanted to show the lively, cheerful, and colourful part of myself with the very bold line.
After drawing a self-portrait, we have to develop it again on how we present ourself with another creative way. This time it is not limited into one A3. After a long brainstorming and idea changes, i decided to do a live show of me "stripping" my layer of colourful clothes, where every colour have their own meaning. i didnt take a video when i did my presentation. such a shame. So, I redoing it again and make a video. it is not the same as what i did, but it will give a hint on what i did.
PROJECT 2 | ME in Space
In my opinion, this project is a very fun way to start our semester, and to start the long journey ahead. I enjoy on how to branstrom some other creative way to represent my character. Its a surprise when i found out that i actually have character that i dont realize i do have, until i asked my good friends to give their opinion about me.
After a very fun assignment we had, and after knowing better of yourself, its time for the real Studio project. After presenting our character, now we are assigned to translate our character to a space.

For this space, i use an open space to represent myself as a very open person. i also created a repitition and layers of the "pillar" just how i use layers of clothes to present myself. I created my space to be a space that people can interact with and stay for a while, not treated it as a work of art that people just use to walk through. Therefore i make the "pillar" to be a little bit slanted, nice enough for people to sit or leaning down.
After translating our personal character into a space, in a group of three we are assigned to combine the character of three people and translate it into a space, and create an 1:1 model of the space with using one material: cupboards.
It is a very challenging project to not only translate one character but to combine 3 people's character. After a very long discussions, and brainstorming, we decided on created a space with a curious sanguine characteristic.

From doing this project, i learned on how to:
-
apply human anthropometry in design
-
design with applying human proportion into it
-
create certain feeling to a space
-
use a 1:1 model with one material. therefore it force me and the team to explore on the material itself, to maximize the function of it.
Final Project | The Hideout Space
Almost come to the end. Final project. for our final project, in the very beginning we are assigned to watch 4 movies;
-
Tron: Legacy
-
Ghost In The Shell
-
Fifth Element
-
Blade Runner
From 4 movies, in a group of 5 we are assigned to choose one movieand study the cityscape. My group chose Tron: Legacy to work with. Next step is together with the group to create a site model of one small part of the city in the movie Tron: Legacy.

After working on the site model, we are now have to think about a character and a narration. We are then have to create a hideout space, generated from the character and the story we made

This assignment tested me on how to use all the principles of design that we learned through out the semester into one design. it make me apply:
-
The human anthropometry
-
to create certain feelings in a space. negative and positive feeling
-
to think of the perfect materiality for it affect the feeling of a space as well
-
to create or translate a space based on a character
