MEASURED DRAWING AND DOCUMENTATION //

 

In the very first of two short semester pf practical we were given a chance to learn from a module named measured drawing. A very short, tight, and straight forward module that taught few skills to the participant. In a big group of around 20 people, in this module, we were given a site to be measured and recorded. This time my group were assigned to use Istana Bandar Bandar Jugra in Banting as our site. From this site, as a group, we had to collect the measurement of the whole building and to produce a report, a set of technical drawings and a model. As for individual, we were assigned to create a sketchbook recording the site that we visited.

 

 

SKETCHBOOK |

 

Individually, we are assigned to sketch 10 sketches of our own observation of the building. This sketchbook are meant not to observe the building as a whole only. we are expect to observe and sketch from a broad perspective such as the landscape and building as a whole, to the detail of the buildings until our very own understanding of the place. This sketches is our very first step of how to understand the building. By completing the task, it gave some sort of a different understanding for us of the building. We are pushed to understand the building from many angles and pour it to sketches.

TECHINAL DRAWINGS, MODEL, AND REPORT |

 

After a week of visiting the site, do measurements and recorded the building, as a team we are assigned to do a big project of producing a set of technical drawings, model and report of the building. from a big group of 20 we are divided again among ourself to do this three tasks. Besides learning skills that is much needed in our architectural field such as proper way of recording, skill of using autocad, the proper methods of documentation, we also learn on how to work in a team and get through this big project as a team. As it is not a strange situation anymore for this architecture field to work in a group, this excercise not only sharpen us in tecnical skills but also in our work as a team skills.
